Syytetylle tuomitusta rangaistuksesta on RL 3 luvun 11 §:n nojalla vähennetty myös se aika, jonka hän oli ollut mielentilatutkimuksen johdosta mielisairaalassa, vaikkei häntä ollut tällöin pidetty vangittuna.
